What
happens in Bali stays in Bali they say.
But
really?
The last thing I remember is that I brought home lots of memories after
I got back from Bali. I made friends, learned so many lessons, and had some
cultural exchange. Everything was just so fun and fine. Too good to stay only
in Bali. Right now I still save it all in my mind and my heart.
So what
happen there? Basically I did a workshop held by my campus, LSPR. This workshop
is about Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program. We did it together with
students and lecturers from University of Technology Mara (UiTM) Malaysia. They
also shared some of they experience working on a CSR Program.
It was
a five day program, but we only have the real workshop for two days. We started
our trip from Bandara Soekarno Hatta on the dawn. I still remember how all
students grumbling about their suitcase while I just bring one big backpack,
LOL. There are only two people who only bring one backpack and it was me and
Ali. Cool aren’t I? :P
Right
after we arrived we went to hotel and had some lunch before we checked out.
Talking about the hotel, it was nice! Such a small 4 star boutique hotel named
Grand Ixora. The pool is pretty and the ambience is just so fine. I like the
smell and the music they play on their lobby and restaurant. Hmm, like it like
it!
On our
first day we got invited to a welcome dinner on Jimbaran. When we arrived, we
took some photos, enjoying the sunset untill we got our dinner. You know what
food that would be, right? Yes, SEAFOOD!!! I ate for like 3 times – litteraly.
Even a friend of mine who had commited to do a diet (she’s a model, so yeah…)
ate as much as I do A_____A
There I
started to make friends with the UiTM students. Honestly, they are much better
than I thought they will be. They showed their interest about Indonesia and it
was such a pleasure to tall them stories about this country. We also had some
chit-chat about our personal and professional stories. There were live music so
we sang along together and dance from our seat. Such a great night in
Jimabaran!
The
next day was our free time. UiTM students and LSPR student went into two
seperate ways. We both started by going to the Ubud but then LSPR students
continue to Sunday Beach Club. Oh my God! The beach club are beyind my
exoectation. Seriously guys, you have to see those pictures.
Yes, we
went down from the climb to the beach using that cool lift – Idk how to call
it. And the beach is just so pweety! We all had pur own towel and beach seat.
We really enjoywd our time there. Playing on the beach, taking pictures, untill
gathering around the bon fire. Can you imagine? :3
The
free days were over so we continued with the workshop on Monday. I personally
thought that I would be sleepy during the class since I spent the day before
with lots of lots of energy. But well, surprisingly I enjoyed the seminar and
discussion. It was all about CSR, of course, but it taught me a deeper
understanding about the practice of it.
The
first lecturer that I got was Ms. Kiki. She talked about digital media as a
perfect way to cover and publish our CSR story. After that we had two lecturers
from UiTM shared about CSR role in university and way to handle crisis in CSR
with management.
We then
watched the UiTM students presented their past CSR Project. It’s called Keeping
Up with Orang Asli. The did it on Taman Botani Negara Shah Alam. I honestly
think that their CSR program was great! Seriously, you guys have to hear how
they did it in three months from the research untill the evaluation. They even
made three sub-program with different concern. Go find their campaign, it could
be a good reference for university CSR program. The next we got our certificate. It was an awarding day.
We
continued the day by going to Seminyak. On the way to Seminyak we stopped by
several places. I personally went to Nasi Babi Pal Wayan. The UiTM students
went to the Gusto Gelato. They like it, hahah^ ^ They told us how cheap Gusto
Gelato is. In Malaysia there is no such a cheap gelato, they said. We were so
glad that they like pur recommendation. Some of my friends also went to
Flinstone to buy cute watermelon bread.
At Seminyak some students enjoying Ku De Ta. Most of UiTM studenta went around to go to shop. Some other UiTM and LSPR students include in me played aroung Petiteteng Beach. Whoaaah… It was so refreshing. The wheather was cloudy but the view was so nice. We took lots of great photos. Yippie!
At
Petititeteng we also got the chance to see native Balinese doing their ritual
by going into the water and pray together after. Yes, the beach was located
near a Vihara. Our UiTM students were really excites to watch that. So again,
we were happy that we like our place recommendation. Hihi…
On the
night some of us “mandi kolam”. Heheheh, it is Malaysia’s word for swimming :P
Not just that word, we learned lots of their language while they were around.
Every word just spunds so funny so we could not help laughing. Luckily the UiTM
students don’t mind, I think they know that we like their language and accent.
They were so friendly and nice. We had great time together. We even play truth
or dare together! :))
The
next day was the last day. Hufty… So sad! Emir, one of UiTM students, followed
me to buy Pia Legong. He just joined us so that we could have more chit-chat
before we had to go.
The
rest of story….. You know, we went home and we still talked about it. We
exchange our contact and we had a group for UiTM and LSPR students together.
Yeay!!! I reaaaaally happy that I joined the workshop. I’m quite sure that this
ezperience will always remain as a good memory inside of my heart.
See you
Bali! See you my UiTM friends!
‘Till we meet again…
